Value creation
How it started:
In the years 2024 and 2025, Dr. André Moreira Simões, invited assistant at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and lawyer at Sérvulo & Associados, Dr. Leonel Gomes Cá, Master’s graduate from NOVA School of Law and lawyer at ANDERSEN TAX & LEGAL IBERIA SLP, and Dr. Rita Marques, PhD candidate at NOVA School of Law (the “Project Managers”), accepted the challenge of coordinating the “Value Creation” area of the Knowledge Center.
The Value Creation area of the Center aims, through innovative, accessible, and inclusive methods, to help young people and future generations understand basic financial concepts and realities, particularly in terms of savings, credit, investment, and relationships with banking institutions.
The target audience of the Value Creation area of the Knowledge Center includes, on the one hand, segments of the population that tend to be excluded from financial literacy promotion initiatives and, on the other, young people, particularly pre-teens, teenagers, and young adults.
The project aligns with the 2030 Agenda, particularly with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1 and 10, as it directly promotes social and financial inclusion (SDG 1), with a special focus on reducing inequalities arising from different levels of financial literacy (SDG 10), and contributes to strong institutions, particularly in financial markets (SDG 16).

"O que não nos ensinam na escola"
The project is based on a partnership with ‘Fundação O Século’, whose mission is to promote and contribute to the creation of conditions and opportunities that enable the socio-cultural development of citizens, particularly children and young people.
The project involves conducting financial literacy training sessions in the foundation’s five foster homes, covering children aged 6 to 19.
